Book Summary
(San Jose, CA) Has that rush to make (and break) New Year’s resolutions already waned? According to Daniel Pink, author of ?Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us, taking small steps every day will not only help you stay committed to your goal, ?but will also help you ultimately achieve that goal when obstacles come up. Author Kathi Lipp wants you and your friends to live out those dreams—and have some fun along the way.
As women, we forget the goals and dreams of our younger years. The busyness of everyday life gets ?in the way. To-do lists replace goals. The Me Project provides women with fun and creative ways to bring back the sense of purpose and vitality that comes with living out the plans and dreams God has planted in our hearts. Kathi Lipp’s warm tone and laugh-out-loud humor motivates women to take daily steps toward intentional goals. The end result? We get back our lives and enjoy living in the confidence of a purposeful life in spite of our chaotic schedules.

This handy guide coaches women to do one simple thing toward achieving our goals each day for three weeks. A woman experiencing the exhilaration of a rediscovered life offers more as a wife, mother, friend, volunteer, career woman.

Finding the balance between living day-to-day with purpose while pursuing the passions God has placed in our hearts is a delicate pursuit. In this refreshing, insightful book, ?Kathi lays out a doable plan that makes sense and helps make our God-given dreams ?a reality. Never stop dreaming, because women who dare to dream do make the world ?a better place.

  1. Love the question you posted: “What life has God uniquely created for me?”
It’s so easy for me to fall into the trap of comparing myself to others – other authors, other teachers, other wives, other…whomever!
Thank you for reminding me to follow God’s unique design for me!

  2. I loved The Husband Project. This one sounds good, too!

  3. Thanks, Ava and Virginia. Ava, that emphasis on God’s plans was one of my favorite things about the book. Ginny, I hope to read The Husband Project soon. It I’ll enter both your names in the drawing (and look forward to seeing you both at the Florida Christian Writers Conference!).

  4. Looks great. Thanks!

  5. Thanks, Aubrey! I think so, too. 🙂

  6. What a great question and the timing is perfect. I left Word Weavers this morning feeling fulfilled and though I am yet to be published I have a sense that I am walking in His purpose and he will bring it about in His time.
He who has called you is faithful and will also do it.

  7. Thanks, Jackie! You have it: His timing is perfect and His ways are right.

  8. Marti, I’m so grateful I was turned on to FB and was able to re-connect with you and learn about what you are doing. This is great! I will be a regular visitor. The book mentioned is in line with what I have been pursuing – still trying to find out what I want to be when I grow up, hahaha… really – not funny. My dreams have been buried for way too long and need to be revitalized. I will seek out this book. Sharon

  9. Marti, what do they mean by the select profile below? I entered my email address – not accepted. I entered my website – not accepted. I thought URL was our web address. It kept telling me I had illegal characters no matter how many times I changed it. Can you help?

  10. Comment.

    Does that count? : )

  11. Sharon, you got through so no worries. Many people who leave blog comments already have their own blog and/or a “profile” on one or another sites (like Google, WordPress, etc.) and it’s just asking if you want to access that. You did fine!

Larry–you’re in (if KCW doesn’t throw you out!).

  12. My impressions from the sell copy above: I like the assignments to do one simple thing towards your goal for three weeks. Intriguing enough to make me want to check it out.

P.S. If Larry wins he should give it to me. I wrote more in my comment. :o)

  13. Wendy, I’m sure if Larry wins he will share (as long as you take him to Starbucks). Thanks!

  14. Oh I want to be put into the drawing, please!

    thanks!

  15. I would love to learn more about “fun and creative ways to bring back the sense of purpose and vitality that comes with living out the plans and dreams God has planted in our hearts.” Sounds like a book all women would find helpful! Thanks for the drawing opportunity!

  16. Sally and Diana, Thanks for the comments. I have a policy about not posting negative reviews. But I have (or actually God has) one about telling the truth, too. I’m confident you’d like the book. I’ll post winners tomorrow!

  17. THE RESULTS: Wendy Leech’s name will be entered into the drawing for the Starbucks gift basket (be nice to her, Larry, there’s still hope). And Virginia Smith wins my review copy of THE ME PROJECT!
